it is an option (and a known bug) in the new iGo 8. the bug is resetting your system time zone to +1, the fix is to add a couple lines to your sys.txt document in the iGo 8 folder on your sd card (you'll have to search for the string to add, i forget it) and then in the regional settings of the program select the correct timezone and also uncheck updating the timezone info automatically.

Oh ok, its apparently a known bug in Garmin as well because I have the same problem, but instead of just changing the timezone, it goes back a couple of days lol. Once it gets a sat lock it'll correct itself.

Hello All,

This Thread should go sticky... Awesome help to save searching around...

anyway...

After the upgrade I am having difficulties setting my favorite keyboard as a default after a soft reset. I have tried SIPChange to set as the default but after a soft reset my KB changes again. Do you guys know any other way for setting my favorite keyboard as the default?

I also noted that the icons under PROGRAMS takes a long time to show and if you scroll up or down is really sluggish. Any registry fixes for that?

Oh... I almost forgot... CMContacts no longer opens when I click on contacts (I get the default windows contacts instead). I searched but did not find a way to make CMContacts as the default contacts... Anyone???

Thank yoU!

are you using astro gps launcher? that caused my programs list to run very slowly as well. i ended up uninstalling it and just going with the standard 2step system to getting my gps working.

Hmm. anyone having/using jivetalk? always seems to say

unexpected error: typeloadexception at beejive.jivetalk.view.buddylistcontroller.buildmen u9() at get_leftsoftkeyMenuItem() at beejive.jivetalk.view.jtwindow.screen_Menuchanged( object sender, eventargs args) at ...

and then it goes off the screen and i can't save the log file... if not i'll submit this problem to jivetalk, considering it is just in Alpha stage

Why is total commander on the list of things not to install? Just tested here before we get this update out and it seems to be running fine.

iGo8, right now its setting its timezone to dublin when the GPS is off lol. But I disabled that auto set system time, that was annoying. Going to look up the fix now, Garmin should come up with fix for theirs soon.

i really wonder why there's so many incompatibilities with the leaked ROM vs any other 6.1 ROM. i never had a problem with any programs up to this ROM on 6.1. i hope the final ROM isnt this flaky with software

I'm sure the final release will be much better, usually is, and more 3rd party software will struggle to fix any incompatibilities as well..

Re: New Sprint 3.02 OEM ROM / Kitchen incompatibilities and fixes

I have a suggestion to help speed up updating a new ppcgeeks_oem.rar...

Can the updater detect the version and have an update pack depending on what version you have? Then if buildos could insert/replace the neccessary oems into the existing .rar file. This could be done locally instead of downloading the whole thing. I can forsee this file growing in size very quick.

So if I have version 2 and version 4 is out, I would get only update 3&4 which may only be 8megs instead of whatever it is up to now. then the updater could extract those to a temp dir, then add them to ppcgeeks_oem.rar. Would help us tethering folks out!

Already being thought of, but it requires maintaining a separate set of uncompressed oems. You can't add/remove from an rar without a commercial license.

Also thinking up a bunch of alternatives, like having the updater or buildOS add to the selections.txt for each separate rar'd OEM, something like that.

Won't be soon.

I found a problem where the sound won't turn off when I put it in either silent or vibrate mode. It doesn't happen all the time, but it does happen. I see an X by the speaker icon at the title bar but still get full volume sound. Anyone else see this?

I just read here what is causing JiveTalk not to work, SQLCE isn't present.

http://themobileunderground.com/2008...ows-mobile-6x/

I believe I found the .cab file which will install SQL, im flashing back to my custom ROM now and installing it. Will post results soon. Somebody already running a custom ROM can try it and probably reply faster than I...

Cab doesn't install for some reason.... it doesn't extract..

thats from the fonts in weatherpanel default folder. Delete those fonts, or rename the extension so they don't get used, and reset.
I can never delete them, so I just add a number to the extension which makes them not load.

**** EDIT ****
Sorry, I just re-read that, and realized it may not be very clear.
Here's a quote from another post on the same subject that may be easier to understand.
"You need to go the WeatherPanel\Themes\Default directory and delete the BRADHITC.ttf and Pixel.ttf font files"
Like I said, I could never delete them, so I just renamed the extension .ttf1.

I've tried loading Skype on 2 different roms using the kitchen, and it installs, but will not run.
I'm about to re-flash a 3rd rom and try it again.
I'll report back, but so far, no go on Skype either.

I can also verify that Skype doesn't work with the new kitchen. It will install and start to load, but after timing out a message appears that says, "Could not start Skype." I have never seen this behavior from Skype (though I haven't used the kitchen before). My kitchen is ultra-simplified and I have nothing else installed.

small annoyance and perhaps just a setting i don't know of but when I press the 'missed call' thin button on the htc home plug in, the 'filter by' option doesn't save. I used to keep that set to "all" but when i change it on the new rom it always goes backed to missed only.

Re: New Sprint 3.02 OEM ROM / Kitchen incompatibilities and fixes

Using the OEM ROM, has anyone been able to activate Microsoft Reader? It installs and runs fine with non-secure books. I activate it and it seems to install the activation without error. The activation files show up in the Windows directory, but when I load MsReader, it still says "yet to be activated". I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, hard-resetting, and copying the activation files from my WM6.1 PDA which successfully activates, but so far nothing works. Is this a bug in the ROM or just a problem with my Touch?

Re: New Sprint 3.02 OEM ROM / Kitchen incompatibilities and fixes

I've had the same problem with non-activation of MS Reader using a Kitchen ROM. I'd like a fix too.
