The tutorial has already been done at xda. Here is the link:

Thanks for trying to save me a little work, and now I'm busted! This was all part of my evil plan to expand my own personal cab collection.

Edit: Here is a link to a working Ervias's Package Creator. It's a little bumpy getting it started sometimes...

You should re-write the tutorial for OEM creation. The one at XDA is really confusing and your tutorials are the clearest that I've read. It's informative down to " Converting Cabs to Packages with Ervius Package Creator" but then it's really bad. The worst part of it was that it says to close the CABS Analyzer then says "the next window that appears is...". It took me two days to figure out that I needed to launch the Package Creator!

I think I did manage to struggle through it and created a Pocket Mechanic OEM and cook it into a new ROM without any errors... but I'll be really surprised if it flashes correctly.

Now that's a good idea! I suppose you'd like it complete with pictures? In rtf format? I'm going to get a couple new toys from radioshack today, so I'll be tied up this weekend, but I'll see what I can whip up!

Nahhh... just write it up like the others. What I like about your tutorials is that they include all the necessary info without getting sidetracked into long explanations, then you always have extra info and good links to more detailed info.

You don't have TIME for new toys!

Re: Custom OEM Requests ...Get them here! Updated: 8/28/08

HOOOOOLY CRAP!!!

I created a couple of OEM's and THEY WORK!!!

My whole ROM works! ... well sort of... I still need to learn how to add shortcuts and remove program groups, etc. because I've got a Games group with no games, and a File Explorer link with no File Explorer app, and Pocket Mechanic without a link anywhere. LOL

Assuming I figure out how to put the Pocket Mechanic link in the Utilties group, do you want the OEM for your collection rstoyguy? PM or email me how to send it to you.

I also created a new MS Voice Command OEM because the one in the PPCGeeks OEM's crashed my Vogue when I tried to access Settings. I'm proud to say that mine does not crash anything and it actually works with the exception that it won't let me save any Voice Command option changes... must be a file transferred as Read-Only.
