It didn't work. Just flashed with it. The program files\pcmkeyboard directory only contained the skin/layout files..no program files. Thanks for your help though, and pdanet works good now :-)

pcmkeyboard is already in ppcgeeks_oem.rar, so tonight when I get home, I can match a skin only oem to be installed with the ppcgeeks one. Tonight I'll flash a test rom to check out all the others as well...
And thanks for letting me know!

Are you wanting help with registration locations or are you wanting them made into OEM's?
If you want help with where they store their registration codes, I can't help you. If you are wanting OEM's, post links to the versions that you want.

Run the packages creator 5.4.exe file, open cab, This opens the cabs analyzer. From the left on the top, click on the 7th icon. If you hold your cursor over it it should say "extract cab files with original name in folder". You have to let the program pick the directory, just click "OK". Then you can click the red "x" to exit.

Has this worked on other cabs? I can zip up the package I have if you need it. If it is just a problem cab, what is it? There are some pretty scarry cab's out there. Or a screen capture...

AceszHigh 06-11-2008 07:14 PM

Re: Custom OEM Requests ...Get them here!

It seems to be working now without that error message. I extract the cab and X out that window and then get an "unhandled exception" message and click continue. The initflashfiles tab still won't pop up so I just close and reopen the pkg creator and open the package, doing it that way.

But now, I ask...how do I know if I did the OEM correctly? I am using my PDAnet OEM I made as a test and comparing it to your PDAnet OEM which is verified to work. They are identical, but for some reason my OEM doesn't have anything in the .rgu file, and yours does. Also I just tried doing it with another cab, and the .rgu files is blank on that OEM as well. Everything else appears to be ok though. hmm....

Pdanet.cab does have registry entries. When it opens up the cab analyzer, you can click on the "registry keys" tab and see the single registry entry. This should be in the rgu file. I have uploaded the oem generator and all the parts that I use to the ftp. Here is a link to my directory OEM Package Creator2.zip

yeah that's the exact package ive been using. For some reason it just wont put the registry entries in the RGU file! It generates a DSM and RGU file in the finished OEM, but the RGU file is empty! (except for REGEDIT4 on the first line)

Make sure you have the two options checked in the bottom LEFT, and on the right side select ENG. I was able to duplicate those errors with that. If not, delete your copy and unzip the downloaded one, all the options are saved correctly in that archive...

When you complete package, you should get a little box that says "imported .reg into rgu".

i just opened that thing up and it seems much more complex than OEMizer i have made some succesful OEMs with it but this looks as though it has more options than OEMizer.

I'm haven't tried the OEMizer yet for making OEM's. This one is easy once you get the sequence of what to click on. The only problem I've seen with this one is how it translates certain strings like:
"Open"="phmregedit.exe %1"
You have to go into to edit it. This one is more advanced, it lets you look into the cab and see the file structure, regedits, and more information when converting the more complicated cabs. I'll have to play with oemizer someday. But being an old ms-dos guy, I like doing things the older-harder-moreoptions way! :)

Re: Custom OEM Requests ...Get them here!

I don't know why this seems to be so problematic for me lol. I think I got everything to work ok...but for some reason, everytime I extract the cab and X out of that window, I get an "exception" error message and click continue, and the package won't show so I have to reload the program then open the package to finish it.

EDIT: Just kidding, I still am getting blank .RGU files. I have done everything right, followed your instructions and the ones w/ the package. Very confused! The reg settings ARE in an XML I exported with the tools, but still not in the .rgu.

When you hit the 7th icon, extract files, you know it will puke if you change the directory, you have to let it pick the directory. That is all I can think of. And if your still having troubles, have you downloaded the one I have a link to above? You may have to track down ervius aceszhigh, or be forever a slave to the kitchen :)

Or send me your laptop! :twisted::drunken::twisted:

FINALLY I figured it out! I hadn't realized that all my CABS are NOT stored on my C: drive and for whatever reason, that is what caused all these problems. Everything works perfectly now that I moved the CABS to C:\ Thanks for your help.

Re: Custom OEM Requests ...Get them here!

You are using a 19208 base. Many applications are having issues with this SYS, try another base

rstoyguy 06-24-2008 06:57 PM

Re: Custom OEM Requests ...Get them here!

Yep, I can't get any of the spb-calc's to work with 19208. Or the system calc, I just installed 1-calc lite, no skin, but I need a calculator...

Edit: I looked into the 19208 registry, looks like there is a new key. Can someone ready to flash try editing the values in the OEM from:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\:M SCALC]

to:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\:M SCALC_TPC]

You need to both the RGU file and PROVXML file from the kitchen...

Ok, I tested the SpbCalc's from ppcgeeks_oem.rar and I found:

I had to make the following changes to get it working on a 19208 base.
1. comment out settings to make it take the place of the system calc.
2. del *.provxml
3. added lnk for spbcalc.exe

And here is a working copy! Insert your own calc_l.gif and calc_p.gif for the skin you want. Enjoy...

The Only other Cab file that I cannot make into a OEM is this one for the Battery.. not sure why.. could someone try to make the OEM out of it for me.

Thanks

That has a couple certificates in the _setup.xml file and I'm not really sure how to convert those. Most likely with a mxip provxml but I'm still learning! :) Perhaps one of the kitchen folks can help you with that one...

Hey rstoyguy thanks for posting that OEM for me in my thread. It worked great but would you happen to have an OEM for the 3 sided W/blank animations? I only want the 3 sided version in my ROM.

Thanks again for your help man.

Also, here is my Custom OEM Request. It might be a bit of a challenge.

I would like Wisbar Advance 2, pre-registered with my name and registration code, the Windows Vista - Wa2 theme created by xcilon(Windows Vista Portable Edition Dark.skin) to be precise). I can PM you with my name and registration code if you think you can help me.

Also I would like an OEM that is everything above, minus registration.

Thanks again, Dan.

Here is the Wisbar project. I have uploaded it to my folder on the ftp as a temporary host. Please let me know once you have downloaded it so i can remove it as it contains my registration.
LINK REMOVED
Also, please do not post the OEM containing my registration code here. Please send me a PM if/when you get it finished.

Thanks again man. I really hope you can get it working cus I just can't. I've been trying on the wisbar one for months. The cube is just the latest development.

Thanks so much,

EDIT:: PS:: rstoyguy - You can keep and use my registration code for Wisbar Advance 2 if you like. Consider it a donation for helping me out. For the record I DO NOT support warez but consider this a favor in exchange for a favor.

Updated first post, updated OEM_wisbaradv2_armv4i-WM5.......................WisBar Advance v2 (shareware $9.99) and tested by me. :)

There are two OEM's inside, one for the program, and one for the themes it comes with.

Note #1:
You can copy the config.ini from your device to the OEM to keep you assorted options...

Note #2:
You can edit the last line of the initflashfiles.txt to include your custom theme in .ZIP format so all you have to do is unzip it on your device, then select the theme.

Note #3:
For registered users, add the following to the RGU file:
Code:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Lakeridge\WisBar Advance 2]
"RegKey"="Your Reg Key Hier"
"RegName"="User Name"
"H5555"=dword:00000000

That is provided your a registered user....

And I found the Vista dialer link has not been updated for 3.xx roms yet or doesn't work....sorry
