I see a thin colored strip on top of the screen. I tried re-aligning the screen, but that did not take it out. This strip appears on top the taskbar.
How can I get rid of this strip?

That's the battery meter, goto c:\windows\startup\ and delete the shorcut called VistaHde Battery Guage.

It's the battery gauge. And yeah, do what DPG said. heh. I was a bit slow to the post.

Use file explorer, goto \windows\startup and delete the vista labeled file. Restart

can anyone list the total steps on this page for me im a bit confused i have the htc touch by sprint with the factory rom

Firstly, how exactly do i connect to GPS sats? I have the GPS today running (run gps checked)
and im on Google maps i clicked *use gps* and now its seeking the satellites. but nothing found yet.

Secondly, how do i get turn by turn (kinda like a tom tom)?

Thirdly, Any other cool GPS apps?

BTW. OMJ i went from ur v8 6.1 , to this one and WOW you are quite possibly my fav cook. This ROM is so zippy even with the tons of stuff i installed!!! thanks for making this rom and also thanks for the help with my gps question...

Nope. Just got back from an appt and tried using it the entire time. No luck. I think I may try re-installing the gps driver I used last Friday on the alltel install to see if that makes a difference.
