Re: Titan 3.35.04 radio
OK, I got it to the tri color. BUt I had to have the phone off for it work. Perhaps that was said and I missed it, or is just one of thosse things everyone knows. Well besides me.
![]() Am I correct to assume the phone must be off for the buttons to do this? This entire time I had been trying while the phone was on. Thanks for getting me to retry it! |

Re: Titan 3.35.04 radio
So what really is the upgrade here? The radio or the drivers from JD's Hybrid ROM? As in, which one have people found to enhance GPS more. I have the new radio flashed and about the flash the Hybrid ROM, but is it OK to flash the gpstest2.1 ROM overtop of that?

After flashing the radio you don't have to install JD's hybrid ROM, once you get the 2.30 unlocker back on there, you can flash any 3.xx ROM. |

HOLY F'IN EFF GPS IS FAST!!!
First time I ran the ROM, my connection speed wasn't so great. But then I tried a voice call, and my phone acted funny, as if it was on speakerphone. The reception was choppy, and it wouldn't hang up! But after that initial phone call, my EVDO speeds have been steady at 300k with one to no bars of service. Also, it took 10 minutes for me to lock on GPS, but once I did, I had anywhere from 5 to 8 locks, when normally it would be 0 to 6. Testing again now with 6 locks indoors. Can't wait to take this baby on the road tomorrow! Thanks to this upgrade and GhettoFree's ROM, I love my Touch again as if it were a brand new toy!

Re: Titan 3.35.04 radio
Ok, I finally gave up on the HyBrid ROM but Kept Radio.
I went back to the AllTel 6.0 ROM since it came from a Touch I felt most comfortable with it and it's behaviors. I put my vote in that it's the Radio that's making the difference. I also diffed the 3 Dlls (that you manually install on the AllTel ROM) with the ones in the Hybrid ROM and they are all the same. Also to my amazement the Alltel ROM Voice Command confirmation over BT works. So I basically have my phone confiured just like the Stock Sprint ROM but with a new Sprint Radio that definitely helps GPS and Voice Command confirmation. However, with low Confirmation Volume I may end up leaving Confirmation still off. And the GPS will get stuck after several uses. I have not figured out the pattern that Jams it. But if I need my Navigation (which ain't all that often) I soft reset, run GPSGate and then iGuidance. It also feels like I can skip using Google Maps before using the GPS to get the COLD GPS boot to run fast. Problems with Hybrid ROM Phone App popping all the time (even when I disabled that launcher). Vista like Laucher was ok but I felt more at home how I got used to HTC Launcher/Task Manager. Few odd mishaps that never happened before (like making calls and getting one way connection) that can happen any time but it's pretty darn rare. The Fonts through out were just plain wrong (probably biggest issue). Bunch of stuff like games etc. that I don't want that I can't uninstall. Voice Command "soft key" which I know can be fixed but wasn't worth it. Volume was kinda funky, probably can be fixed with AudioPara and registry but I don't trust many AudioPara files out there because they push the speaker phone too much so I would need to edit by hand. Didn't like the extra layer added when you click the antenna Icon To Roll Back: Camera/Power/Reset Installed AllTel ROM (Radio and OS NBH using RUU) too lazy to figure out how to extract OS out of NBH SKIP CUSTOMIZATION Then Rolled Back Boot Loader to .40 again (Same as OP in this thread) Reinstalled Radio with RUU (same as OP in this thread) Then just left AllTel OS ROM (skipping steps at end of OP in this thread ie no Hybrid ROM) But then it was crashing after a minute. To fix I put 2.31 Unlocker back on and it was happy (not sure if the extra hard reset fixed it or putting 2.31 Unlocker back on. Reinstalled Unlock Cabs/Scripts and GPS Dll's cab (in the other Sticky Thread on Complete Guide).

Re: Titan 3.35.04 radio
Just to chime in with mswlogo I am also on my AllTel Rom and the titan radio indeed does work better
![]() On another note I was never be able to downgrade to the 0.40 unlocker (mine always showed 2.31 but I did attemp the downgrade, don't know if that did make a different or not) I crossed my finger and flashed anyway and it work but don't do this unless you are brave. Also I use the sd card method for all this operation noted above. |

In fact, I am beginning to see more and more reports of the same problems with the new radio and rom, so maybe its been all placebo effect for the initial reports of better functionality??? |
