I am doing research on unlocking my xv6900 touch from vzw, I am wondering is there a way to save my stock rom before I change anything? I am nervous about bricking my new phone but gps would so cool. and by saving the stock rom first, would i then be able to use the method in this thread to return my vzw phone back to original?

I found the bell stock ROM from here http://www.htc.com/us/FAQ_Detail.aspx?p_id=70&act=sd but when i put on on my micro sd card it fails at loading the rom.

it says:

bootloader - ok
splash1 - ok
splash2 - ok
cdma -
os -

Update terminated
update failed

and at the top it says
00018002
VOGUIMG.nbh - FAIL

what can i do to fix this?

I tried everything and it still wont work I keep getting a not allowed message what do i do? I'm in the bootloader and this is what it keep showing:

THIS HAPPENED AFTER I TRYED THE 2.31 IMCOKEMAN UNLOCKER ON THE ORIGINAL BELL ROM. WHAT DO I DO I CAN'T EVEN INSTALL THE ORIGINAL ROM BACK IT SAYS INVALID VENDOR ID AFTER 1%

run the 0.40 imcokeman unlocker, then run the offical bell firmware.

CAN'T.

I'm in the same boat as nexus08....
I screwed up by loading kitchen rom v3.02 before upgrade radio to 3.35+. Even though i was using bootloader v2.31 to load RUU, once completed the rx6900 wont go pass load screen thus i can't connect through Activesync to do anything else.
weird thing is in bootloader mode (power + camera +reset) it show:

VOGU100
SPL-0.36.0000
CPLD-3

therefore I can't load any other RUU until freaking VZW release an .exe

If you had the unlocker 2.31 fully loaded on your phone there is no way your phone would now say 0.36.0000. Did you ever verify that your phone had 2.31 bootloader on it? It sounds like something must have gone wrong with the install of the unlocker. Unfortunately there is no current fix from where you are until there is a new signed rom from your carrier.

Stuck on Verizon Loading screen for half hour now.

Any ideas?

I have a interesting situation:
I tried to load the stock VZW ROM as my power button is not working and I need to exchange my phone.
The loading process completed succesfully and the phone rebooted but was stuck at the Verizon screen. I tried the instructions in this post to unbrick with no luck.
However, if I put my phone is boot loaded mode and use the "upload ROM to device" menu option in BuildOS, the load process goes through just fine and my phone works fine.
I am just not able to load a signed ROM.

Bootloader:
VOGU100 MFG
SPL-2.31.Coke
CPLD-3

and
Radio 3.37

What am I doing wrong?

there is nothing about the unlocker that would prevent a signed rom from being loaded. You need to stay in bootloader to flash those too though. When you say power button is not working do you mean power will put it in standby, but not take it out? if so hat is because you don't have a GPS ready OS (aka verizon stock)
