I don't have vista... I wish i did so i could help you more all i can tell you is how i get to the setting using xp.. If you have older machine you can use then that would be your best be untill someone with vista comes up with a solution for a bricked touch...
I go to icon in the system trey and right click it then a little menu pops up and at the bottom it says "connection settings" then from there you will have the options i mentioned earlier but like i said that's on xp... I'm sorry i wish i could help you more!!! If you do manage to find the setting or another machine. After you do the mtty and everything run the unlocker. That seemed to really help so now it don't go back to the rainbow screen or freeze on a grey screen.... |

HOLY **** IT WORKED!!!!!
I went back into bootloader mode after popping the card in with the unlocker on it and then after I soft reset the device, it went straight into WM! Now I will finish running the unlocker so it locks in 2.31, correct? EDIT: Okay! I ran the entire unlocker and am now not learning a damned thing from my mistakes and have flashed JD's rom. LOL! Thanks everybody! You were all a lot of help! EDIT2: My dumb luck again - when the phone tries to boot after installing the one based on JD's listed here http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=24979 the telus splash screen comes up and does not boot further. At the bottom of the screen it says "no radio". I am going to flash the telus rom and see if that fixes it. Did my radio rom get lost in the shuffle?? EDIT3: Reflashing with the Telus rom fixed it. This is most definitely a sign that I should not be trying to get GPS capability, isn't it?? LOL Last edited by Shrink; 04-30-2008 at 06:40 PM. |

It didn't fix it - the HTC screen at the very start says No Radio although the phone is somehow working... any suggestions? When my phone goes to sleep, it doesn't wake back up now.
 When I got to Device Settings, my ESN is listed as all zeros but the Radio, Protocol, PRL and PRI versions are all blank. Last edited by Shrink; 04-30-2008 at 06:43 PM. |

Im officially unbricked now. I got my radio and everything to show again!
All without a memory card on xp... I will do a write up on it later. Thank you coke and the other contributing members... Now to finnish what i was trying to in the first place.. Fingers crossed!! Hey shrink just because the radio isn't showing doesn't mean its not there.. after i did the unlocker i put the oem ship rom back on my touch and when it loaded up it showed the radio and everything... |

Thanks hljerdee - it does appear to be working okay now after I flashed back to the .40 unlocker. I would feel a lot better if the radio showed, in addition to my ESN. However, internet appears to work as does the phone.
If I flash another rom (custom rom for example) will the radio come back? Thanks! |

If you put the oem shipped rom back on and then you will be good to go... |

Unfortunately Telus doesn't have a shipped rom posted anywhere
The Telus store has ordered a replacement phone for me (I took it in when it was stuck on the bootloader) and I may just swap it when it arrives (unless I can find a 2.15 radio rom somewhere to flash which will hopefully cause it to reappear). |

This is how i unbricked my sprint touch/vogue
You will have to search for the software that you don't have.
Heres what i used ActiveSync MTTY ver 0.01 Touch Unlocker RUU_Vogue_SPRINT_WWE_1.12.651.1_2.13.00_SPC_NV133_ Ship So start searching... In Activesynce uncheck these options: Allow USB connections , Allow connections to one of the following and Open ActiveSync when my device connects. Plug in bricked touch in to your usb port directly to your pc or laptop. Open MTTY ver 0.01 Under port scroll down to usb and hit ok..(leave all the other settings the way they are) In MTTY hit enter so this will pop up Cmd> now type in set 16 0 After You Type In "set 16 0" IT will NOT look like anything happend... That's just how Mtty is.... Just follow all the steps!.. It will then jump down and say Cmd> Then Type in boot It should jump down and say this Cmd>boot +mddi_host_init MarkECCBlock Fill RSVD information for block 160 to 176 Storage start sector=0x9D40, total sector=0x132C0 Storage start block=645, total block=1227 Total Bad Block in CE: 0 Erase physical block from 807 to 2032 formatstorage Bad block found: 833 formatstorage Bad block found: 860 formatstorage Bad block found: 1187 +NANDFlashIdentify +flash_nand_device_probe flashn_dm_transfer done! maker_id=0xEC,device_id=0xAA maker_id = EC device_id = AA total_no_devices = 15 We have found a match of IDs -NANDFlashIdentify OEMGetUpdateMode OEMTranslateBaseAddress 23 80000000 80000000 IPLMSG:0x8:INFO: Loading image ... It will jump to a grey screen for a little bit but then will load up and say htc smart mobility and will continue to load up like it was the first time you ever turned it on. It will have you align the screen and everything... then it will attempt to do the full customization well either way its going to restart your device and when it tries to load up you will be back at the rainbow screen but for some reason the phone still remembers the settings. So again you go into MTTY and repeat what you did the first time but when it loads this time you won't have to let it customize. Your almost done but your not finnished After you get it all set up, you need to go back to ActiveSync and recheck all the options... Then run the touch / vogue unlocker until its finnished Then all that is left is running this rom and you will be good go. (This isn't a link) RUU_Vogue_SPRINT_WWE_1.12.651.1_2.13.00_SPC_NV133_ Ship Ive tried this in different orders but for sure this worked for me...
