Since they have agreed to swap the phone once they get a replacement in, do you have any suggestions as to what I could try? I presume that the 2.01 SPL came out of the Alltell ROM but it won't flash either (wrong device id).

To the best of your knowledge, has anyone ever been successful begging HTC for a signed shipping rom that hasn't been made available through the carrier? <g>

If you can think of anything I could try, I would really appreciate it. Otherwise, I appreciate your help as is. ;)

Not sure if it's possible to SuperCID your phone with mtty in your current state, if so you can flash any rom, since it bypasses the carrier check.

2.01 is the SPL you said you had, and its the one that is on these locked devices from an alltel flash. The method i wanted to try for SuperCID didn't work for this configuration when i had someone try it. The ideas I have though require digging in hex to see what's happening and if i can use certain commands like mw, jump etc. Other options involve rtask to talk to the radio, but i can't really give steps until i know more about what options there are.

Imcokeman, How do you update your rom from your memory card?

I'm not talking about what has been discused in this thread.

I mean is it possible to do it while the phone is running to update from the file explore on the windows mobile device (touch)?

Because like I said in an earlier post i can boot it up using MTTY
but if i turn it off it goes back to bootloader.. Or if the screen shuts off the phone will just stay at a grey screen when i try to wake it up...

Any help will appreciated.. Thank you..

use "set 16 0" in mtty next time, that tells it not to go to bootloader. Also, what SPL/radio/rom versions are you using? I need to know all 3. If they aren't compatible you can have similar issues as well.

Re-run the unlocker until it shows 2.31 in the SPL then you need to flash a the alltel rom to get GPS radio and you'll need GPS compatible roms. Otherwise you should use the 0.40 SPL for a 1.xx rom.

I ran MTTY out of Vista after disabling connecting through USB in WMDC but USB wasn't detected by MTTY. Is MTTY not compatible with Vista? Thanks!

Alright i will give that another try... Ive tried that and the sprint update and a couple of other roms but it doesn't finnish the update...

The first time i tried the unlocker it said succesful...

I tried the command set 16 0 the other day and it didn't do anything but this time i put it in before i typed in boot

now i'm able to turn off the device off and turn it back on!!! But if i put it in sleep mode where the screen is just off . I cant get it to come back on without a soft reset wich is how i found out i could turn it back on so thank you for your help so far..

Update: when it goes to sleep and i try to get it to come on it goes to a blank grey screen... I don't know why...


Update again: I ran the unlocker and it was successful! It still says i have no radio but it goes to the towers when try and make a phone call. (its not activated yet) Now i can tap the power button for the screen to come off and it will come back on! Yes! I did change the settings so that the screen will not go off by any other way but i doubt that has anything to do with it...

Hey shrink try unchecking all of these: alow usb connections,

allow connections to the following port and open active sync when my device connects...

And what version are you using?

I'm using MTTY ver 0.01

Under usb (of course)

Then type command: set 16 0

Then type command: boot

Once you get it connected of course... keep us posted..
