Yes, try creating a new connection using #777 as the number to be dialed.

Try a blank username and password.

Create a new connection Name it Sprint PCS, click next
Enter #777 for the number to dial, click next
Leave everything else blank on the next screen, and click finish.

I think if you already had let the customization run that it might of overridden some settings, and a hard reset just won't cut it. Hopefully I am wrong
