well, i eventually panicked, wussed out enough, and took the 30 min drive to the sprint store and exchanged it for a new one.

well, i just did it again. i must be doing something wrong in the cooking of my ROMs...about to try out your solution..hope it works!!

well i was able to re-flash, but, unfortunately, it is stuck in the same "htc smart mobility" screen again. i think i have been able to narrow it down to the oemizer app. i must be doing something wrong in there.

alrighty, it is indeed something in oemizer preventing it from booting. guess ill have to read up a little and keep cookin.

well, after cooking and flashing too many times to remember this late, all i can do is ask for help when you guys wake up and check this thread.

in the last couple of builds i havent been doing anything with oemizer at all and it still hasnt been working, and i dont think i am doing anything extra in buildos that i havent done before in successful ROM images...it seems sort of erratic.

any suggestions/hints/comments would be great, thanks a lot.

If you don't boot with a custom always flash a stock one to make sure it's still working. That proves it's not the phone's fault. Then just make fewer changes to your custom til you get it to boot and make mods one at a time.

ugh ya what a hassle. i was finally able to get things working...ok....certainly not like i wanted.

i was unable to install virtually any cabs or reg edits with oemizer as buildos kept having problems with them every single time. does it actually ever work? oemizer i mean?

I don't think what your saying is accurate. I've been to the HTC site and the phone is advertised as being WiFi capable. That means that Sprint has either blocked it or HTC is not putting this capability in with its CDMA phones. I did not see any reference to let me know that is the case, so I have to assume Sprint has blocked it out. Since the site is HTC's US site, I am not a lawyer, but I think that would be a false advertising issue not to state CDMA model phones do not have WiFi.

Sorry about the previous post Imcokeman, I did not read the thread before I posted.

I tried the unlocker, and get to the last step. It asks to do a rom update, and then acts like it has done a hard reset, but never asks for the custom rom image that I want to flash with. When does it ask this? I remmeber when I had my Mogul, it was very easy and straight forward.
