if you have .rgu files associated w/ notepad, it will open as a txt.....which is what you want.

Thats weird because I was only trying to add one OEM.. actually I tried like two different ones by themselves and got the same error.. One was the videoflash 1.4.4 and the other was tcpmp I think.

Honestly, im just playing around trying to learn all this stuff. Im pretty much a guru when it comes to overclocking and hardware with computers which was learned through forums.. so I think I can learn this stuff but its gona take alot more reading.

Thanks for your reply and I'll look into the rgu file.

yeah, if you delete the oem, then run buildOS successfully, then there's definitely an issue w/ that oem. there's a log file somewhere that tells you what file is casuing the issue.....I don't have my laptop, so I can't tell ya where it's at.

Just download the kitchen tools and run prepit.bat on the stock Alltel .nbh file, and bingo, an Alltell kitchen :)

you can use any of the kitchens, depends on how you want to start out:

*Vogue_Kitchen_tools.rar: contains no base ROM, you'll need to provide one

*Vogue_Kitchen_tools_stock_OMJ.exe: contains a stock sprint ROM w/ 6.1

*Vogue_Kitchen_tools_v107basekit_OMJ.exe: contains No2Chems v7 basekit, which is a clean out 6.1 ROM

the link u posted for a Alltel ROM, does it already have 6.1? Either way, I can get it started for you, if ya want.

For the bootscreen modifying, I'm no expert, but the image is located in the kitchen here....
\SYS\Redist_dpi_96_resh_240_resv_320 and it is called welcomehead.96.png.

The size is 320x320, so I'm guessing you could create a 320x320 image, save it as welcomehead.96.png then overwrite the original.

Re: Cook your own Custom Touch ROM

i was able to get the splash screen replaced, but how do i incorporate the custom .nb boot image? I dont see the nb image tool like i used to use for the apache kitchen.
every rom that i flash since the first one i flashed (DnJ) i got an ugly earth/sunrise with htc logo/vista logo boot screen. (no offense to the person who made it) and im trying to figure out how to replace all that

thanks!
