How do we know that one going around now is *official*? I haven't seen a link to it yet on Sprint or HTC's site.

True, it may just be a well cooked fake from someone that happened to get there hands on an unreleased radio and new versions of cabs that aren't available anywhere else.

My guess is that it really is leaked from Sprint and is closer to a release candidate than we've had previously. There is so much custom Sprint garbage on it that it must be about ready to go live. The Sprint developers wouldn't want a lot of that filler trash on their test ROMs.

after upgrade to new official release. and back to Derek's rom, and i got radio 3.42.30 can someone confirm that this is the new radio? or the Derek released with his last rom

Derek's ROM does not replace the radio, only the OS. You can upgrade to the new Sprint ROM then load Derek's v20 and keep the new radio.

It's rather sad. I just tried 4 different ROMs, and while each has their own benefits, I ended up coming back to Derek's ROM, which is about 2+ months old now. This ROM is still what I'm looking for in terms of simplicity and stability.
