Cannot update MDN & MSID with Calkulins v4.2 WWE installed

I purchased a used HTC touch pro on ebay, the seller had installed Calkulins. I followed the sprint directions, entering the MDN and MSID provided when adding the phone to my plan. The sprint directions match up perfectly, except for the last step, once the new information is entered, the phone is supposed to restart itself, but after making the changes I have to do a hard restart. The sprint rep told me I have to do a hard reset if I cant update the MDN/MSID. Does anyone know a workaround or is the rep correct.
