Battery dies while plugged in using Wifi Internet Sharing
 

Anyone else have this problem. It seems to have recently developed on my phone.

I use Wifi Sharing on my TP with Energy Rom. I have the phone hooked up to the charger, but after awhile, it stops charging, and the battery dies. I use wifi sharing a LOT for hours at a time b/c we do not have internet at home as we live in the middle of nowhere.

Could this be a heat issue? The phone does get really hot after using the wifi for awhile.

Also, I have tried both toggling the fast charge, on or off, doesn't seem to make a difference. The only way to get it charging again is to take out the battery for a minute and reboot.

Thoughts, suggestions?? Thanks!

Leave the keyboard out and set it on a small aluminum plate with the battery cover off. It will help draw the heat off.

Yea, I see that it has a cutoff off the high heat. I think I'm going to do what you've said. nuerom's solution sounds a bit scary as of right now....

I built a small USB-powered fan into a project case for this issue. I take the back cover off, put the phone on the project case and it keeps it very nice and cool.

welcome to one of the many issues with the TP..lol....like the above members have stated leaving the keyboard out seems to help alot and if you have a fan have it blowing on the TP.

it does not have to get warmish/hot...when it gets to the cutoff point heat wise the charging will stop till it cools down.
