Tethering: Battery/performance
Hey guys,
So I'm kind of caught between two different options for tethering.
-If i tether using ICS/USB, connection speed and reliability are good, but battery drains fast because the usb port only provides about 400 mAH and the discharge rate is like 600-700 a lot of times.
-If I tether using wmwifirouter or HTC wifi router, battery seems to stabilize (charge and discharge are about the same when plugged into 1A wall charger) but the connection speed and reliability are crap. A ping loop test shows that i continually get dropped packets every minute or so.
Both of these solutions are with the device mounted above the AC vents in the car so that it doesn't overheat.
Anyone have a solution that will allow for speed, reliability, AND battery life?
