Use data while roaming on verizon

Hey, tried searching real quick before work and couldn't find what I was looking for. I am on a custom ROM and I can roam on verizon.

I am trying to use the internet even though it is slow. It says dialing #777 then it says cannot connect.

I can go into the settings and change it from #777 to something else if need be. I don't know if changing this will make the internet work while roaming.

So I was wondering / trying to find myself if there is a way to connect to the internet. If dialing another number will work or not.
