SMS Question

After switching back to stock rom configuration for my Sprint TP, I've noticed that when I send text using the slide out keyboard, there is a really annoying black line that keeps suggesting words, etc. I've looked through this phone and turned off any and everything that seemed related to word completion;T9; word suggestion, etc and the bar still pops up! Does anyone know of a solution to this?
