flashing trouble.
Hi, I have flashed my verizon tp a couple times. but now when i go to flash a new rom the update utility does not work.
sorry for the newb question, but all the forms i have looked at have not helped me out. |
Re: flashing trouble.
need more info than that. what are you using to flash? kitchen or premade rom?
|
Re: flashing trouble.
why not just flash via your microsd card? Just rename the RUU_signed.nbh file to RAPHIMG.nbh and place on the root of your card, then press and hold VOL DOWN + Power and while holding that, hit the reset. You'll get a prompt to press the power button, then the process will begin.
FYI - The file name needs to be RAPHIMG, some people have trouble because they name it RAPHIMG.nbh.nbh, that doesn't work. ;) |
Re: flashing trouble.
well i have heard that when you flash it to your card it can wipe the memory, and i have no backup system other than the pim backup..
and im trying to flash a premade rom. |

Never heard of that. It will wipe the memory on the device itself, but you know that since you said you have flashed before. I have never had a problem with flashing wiping the memory card. If that scares you, just make a backup on your pc. I keep a folder on my pc for each ppc I have to keep apps backed up if my card fails. |
Re: flashing trouble.
well, i dont have outlook and i cant figure out another way to backup my card. Any help on that??

Re: flashing trouble.
there have only been a few reports of flashing via SD card that the card was erased. i wouldnt worry about it. save the rom to the sd card and rename it to whatever is required for the TP, turn the phone off and power up in bootloader and it will load itself.

Re: flashing trouble.
OH forgot to add, you can erase the rom and download it again to see if the update utility will work.

Re: flashing trouble.
hmmm. thank you for the information guys=]

Re: flashing trouble.
just connect your TP to your pc and select "disk drive mode". On your pc create a folder on your desktop name "TP card backup" or whatever you want. Copy then entire contents of your card to the newly created folder on your desktop.
