I'm on my 6 or 7th one... the replacement website won't let me swap mine anymore. The replacements have always been the phone and not me from abuse or handling.

Verizon is looking better and better, if the Omnia slider comes out, I will be gone!

Just any FYI....

I called HTC Tech Support and was complaining about my keyboard going out.....for the 5th time.... The tech told me that that was a known issue for the first two builds of the Touch Pro and that I would either have to get a TP that has a build number version of 0003 or 0004.

To determine the build number go to: Start > Setting > System > Device Information . Then on the Version tab look at the Build version number.

So... if you don't have either build 0003 or 0004 just be prepared to have keyboard problems..... The other way to fix the issue is to send the phone into HTC and they will fix the keyboard problem correctly.... but you will not have your phone for up to 3-5 weeks.....

What do you mean "won't let you"? How are they stopping you from doing this?

How do we determine what build number we have?

Good info cold, I'll just keep swapping mine out I just got my first refurb yesterday but it actually looks like new and works real good for now but I just checked and it's a 0002 so we will see. Going without my phone for 3-5 weeks isn't an option for me unless I got a loaner but it would be nice to know it's fixed right!

I also found out through sprint that as long as you have the $7 Insurance you will not have have to pay for a replacement phone.....as long as it is a manufacture problem with the phone. This is a good thing to know... I almost dropped the insurance because the replace fee went up to $150 for the TP...... Now that I found out that manufacture defects will be replaced for free I think I'll keep it!

Re: Need to link to replace my 9th TP

I have 0002 build version, not sure what the previous 2 were.

Had keyboard fail recently, some keys were stuck in the down position and generating an endless stream of characters. A new and interesting failure I haven't heard about. Sprint store replaced the keyboard.

They need to sell this phone by the case, say 8 units in each one, like disposable contact lenses. This way a case might last you a year or two and by that you will want to upgrade to a newer model anyway.
