Hard time moving Phat files to microSd...whuts up?

I've been trying to load a tomtom map on my storage card here for days now, and can't seem to make it happen. I've tried copying through Activsuc and it'll start to copy and lag or start over. I have a USB reader with gives me a write delay error...what gives? I cant seem to move any file over 50mb without it trippin out. I've tried on all 3 of my computers....whats the magic spell?
