Re: Sprint replacing for TP2

I am disappointed in this thread. I honestly don't see how some people go through so many phones! I have had 6 different models of phones in my life, and had 1 replaced 1 time. That was because the charging port went out and I had no choice but to get another phone. If you continue to brick your phone due to your own flashing failures and think you deserve a free TP2, your insane! Why would you expect this from a carrier or any company period!? I mean if you buy a 2005 Lexus, and you keep having problems with it, mainly due to your own tamperings, then do you really think you can take it back and have them give you a 2010 Lexus?! I mean really... Stop your complaining that the carrier won't replace your phone, again! I mean the rest of us have to wait to upgrade, or pay a huge price for our new TP2, why should you be any different!? Take it up with the manufacturer if you have any problems, it's produced by HTC, call them, don't give the carrier's bad wraps about not giving you everything you want on a silver platter. It really sucks that people that are this spoiled and whine to get these upgrades and then you have the honest customer that pays for their products and does the right, respectable thing. That's my 2cents.

Everyone is entitled to their own 2 cents, but it's well known that there are several issues with the TP. I know for myself, I've had 2 TPs that needed to be replaced because the keyboard stopped working. Hardware "defects" have nothing to do with flashing. Hell, there's an entire thread of how to fix the keyboard yourself, but why should I if it's a manufactures defect? It might be a HTC phone, but Sprint has their name and logo on it and most people buy their phones directly from Sprint. I don't see too many people on here complaining about wanting to get their TP replaced because something flashing did to it. Let's use your example of the Lexus, let's say you get a new Lexus and the navigation goes out. I would expect Lexus to replace the navigation, and if they can't, I expect some kind of compensation because I'm not getting what I paid for. I won't go into the whole lemon law when it comes to cars, but it's pretty much the same thing we're dealing with here...](*,)

I would really like to say some harsh comments about your reply to my message, but for the sake of the forums, I will hold them in. In your example with the navigation going out on a Lexus, they will fix the issue, just like HTC is pushing out replacement keyboards for the defective ones. You don't need a whole new phone when a simple piece goes out. Are they really going to compensate you that much, or fix the issue? Their not going to give you a new upgraded model when they can fix your issue. And why should Sprint, or HTC give you a TP2 due to a keyboard defect? I never said that people are bricking their phones and want a TP2 due to flashing, I'm saying 90% of the reason people have gone through so many is because they bricked it multiple times with flashing, this is your own fault, if you have had multiple devices due to hardware failure, such as the keyboard, which HTC has addressed and can fix, then let them fix it. Nothing is perfect. If you have the nerve to complain and go through all the hassle just to save money when everyone else works hard 40+ hours a week and pays for their actual phone. Stop whining and just buy the dang phone!!!

Re: Sprint replacing for TP2

well i guess it boils down to people will have to wait and see if sprint replaces tp1 with tp2 or use your upgrade and pay the 350 or buy the phone for 500 bucks. no need to bash others or get upset everybody comes from different walks of life and what not i guess you should do what works for you .... i see i have been rambling again

I've learned that the more you push to get an upgraded phone .. the least likely your gonna get 1 .. if you have a legit issue with the phone just talk 2 the tech at the store and if they are nice enuff they will hook you up with the upgrade.

Replacement Woes

Just a little info...

I ordered a replacement for my TP because of various technical issues (note: I'm not trying to get a TP2 out of this)

I don't mind that it's refurbished, but um... it looks like someone took a cupcake and smeared the frosting all over the keyboard. I tried cleaning it off and managed to get most of it, but there's still white gunk at the top and between some keys.

I called them up and here's how its going so far:

Rep 1: Transferred me to Asurion even though I insisted I did not do this through them

Rep 2 (Asurion): Said I was right, transferred me back to Sprint

System: Hung up on me

Rep 3: Said he can't do it form customer service, transferred me to tech

Rep 4: Said tech can't do another replacement even though she says technically the phone they sent me is defective as well. Told me to go to a Sprint store.

I don't even know how to feel right now. At least my phone has basic functionality, so I can manage for a bit. But... Come on, guys!

Re: Replacement Woes

did they send it through the mail or UPS like this or did you pick it up at store? I'm guessing they sent it to you. Man, I feel the pain. My 2nd replacement TP looked like it was in Iraq for 5 months! I would go into a sprint store and complain. But be nice. I'm sure they will get you another.
