I can't even manage to get a NIB TP1... these guys seriously need some QC on refurbed units.

They are NOT going to give you a TP2 for the Tp. Have to wait until next year at the earliest when the TP goes End of life, Either that or fork out 500 bucks for the phone, but for that price might as well buy it w/o contract for 600. With Sprint gaining more customer's than they are losing now, to be frank they dont care if you leave sprint.

I am looking real hard at verizon and the Omnia pro (slider), I am getting tired of Sprint and HTC's crap, they need to pay Qualcomm for the full driver package and quit cutting corners, they are getting worse than gm

QFT!!
I agree, how could such a company like HTC exist. If I could find another touch screen, windows mobile phone with slide out keyboard under sprint, I would. The Palm Pre is nice but Pocket PC's have been out forever and there are SO many applications that are useful from the past and the present, whereas the Pre needs alot of time to make up (and also I like the Touch Pro's bigger keyboard). HTC sure knows how to make a product people want, but a product that will always break

You guys are killin me. I posted *THE WAY* to check and to *GET A TP2* when they start swapping them for TP's. 2 pages of posts later, and nobody even mentions what I wrote... just a bunch of belly aching and GUESSING when the true answer has been under your nose since the 1st page of this thread.

Oh yeah, someone mentioned the Omnia... the Omnia 1 without a slide out keyboard has a super nice and sensitive screen. It never crashes, and it's 4 times faster than the TP. My GF has one, and it's been a $99 phone for a while now. I can only imagine what the Omnia 2 will be like. I wish we could get that on Sprint.

You'll have better luck after the Touch Pro goes off sale on Sprint.com at the earliest. They aren't going to upgrade you when they have them new in a box somewhere.

Thanks Automation! And your probably right frazell, it might be a while before Sprint starts replacing TP's with TP2's, but who's to say it's gonna have better reliability, people are already starting to have problems.

It's how I got my TP in place of my Mogul. One of the last steps will show you what you are sending in and what they will send you back. If it isn't a TP2, then you can cancel the transaction and try again later.

Tried that link and it gave me an address of a local service rep. Guess you could always try talking to someone at the local store who might feel sorry for you for going through all the TPs

I have a legit issue with my phone. I have the oil under the screen issue and the local store isnt much help. I tried going this route but in the end it just refers me back to the one and only sprint repair center i have in town.

Sprints only solution was to have me claim through asurion and they would reimburse me the deductible. Its a solution and its fair and all but the one issue I have is that I have used 2 of my 3 claims you are allowed with asurion. I used one when I broke my phone screen and once when I jumped in a pool to get my daughter out. So if I go asurion route this time I risk not having insurance coverage until may 2010.

I'd call sprint at 800-639-6111 and tell them you'd like to replace the phone under the Sprints Advanced Exchange program...worked for me.
