Problems with Gmail and other Emails

Hi,

I have this strange problem hoping someone can help me. I have Gmail (Imap), Hotmai and my office email setup on the phone.

All emails work fine. However, when I manually choose the Send/Receive, only hotmail seems to work fast and fine.

Gmail (and work email, both SSL): It will connect via cellular (Sprint) and log in. Then the Email screen just vanishes and it goes back to home screen. However, in the background, the logging in/downloading headers is still working. I will finally get my email about 30 seconds later or so after I go back to the email screens.

The same behaviour is observed on Gmail Imap and my work pop3 email. Both coincidentally have SSL enabled.

Wondering if anyone else has experienced the same problem and any clues how I can aleviate this problem would be greatly appreciated.
