Problems syncing TP and Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC)
Windows 7 RC build 7127
WMDC 6.1 Stock TP WM I've done everything I can including complete uninstalls and reinstalls. This phone does NOT want to install correctly on Windows 7. I've grown tired of this game and have no clue and little patience. Sadly, I REALLY need to reinstall WM because it's not audible when it rings anymore, even when the volume is all the way up. Please, please help me. Is there any lone driver out there that I can try to install? Should I upgrade .NET to beta 4? Thanks for any help! |

On your phone, did you check under settings->connections-->USB to PC-- Under the activeSync, make sure NO check is in the enable faster data sync
Try that one? |

trol1374 - I did try that, yes. It was still unsuccessful. I tried everything under the sun but Windows 7 doesn't like my phone!

possible testing options: 1. find a friend's computer with xp and test your tp to see if it syncs. [most likely your Pro will NOT sync] 2. find a friend's pro and see if it syncs to your windows 7 machine. [most likely your friend's PRO will on the first try] I don't know what it is but my phone can't activesync anymore too using either windows 7 or windows xp. the only thing I can do is reflash back via sd card method to stock and see if that's the fix. my brother's [stock ROM] Pro syncs fine with windows seven on my thinkpad without any issues. I plug it in to the same cable, we have the same settings, and his connects in seconds. My Pro just charges and connects only if I use either the 'storage option' or 'internet sharing' . Sync use to work fine but it just stopped working on my Pro. this happened to me twice already, the last PRO I had SSK rom this issue popped-up I reflashed to stock [sd card] and the same problem continued. got a replacement through Sprint. This second PRO, three-four months later, I'm on Juicy 090723H and issue pops up again, it has to be the Pro again because other people are reporting no issues with syncing fine with windows 7. the only solution if a stock rom or separate XP partition doesn't fix the usb sync issue is to get a replacement Pro. hope you find a better solution. |
Re: Problems syncing TP and Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC)
I dont think its windows thats the problem its the version of outlook..if your version is 2000 or older it wont work try upgrading outlook express to an earlier version... dont quote me as I'm not real sure on what year is needed..I just no my outlook is to out of date so I cant sync and cant afford a newer version of outlook :-(

Re: Problems syncing TP and Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC)
Windows 7 build 7100
Outlook 2007 Touch Pro .net is whatever ships with build 7100 running the above configuration on my desktop and laptop. both sync fine and required no configuration beyond installation of WMDC to sync right up with the phone. The problem is not with 7. In fact i had more sync issues (with an lg incite, but regardless) with vista than anything. No issues at all with 7. |
Re: Problems syncing TP and Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC)
Can I get a replacement TP for this syncing issue?? That would be awesome!
I'll have to try hooking it up to other computers and see what happens. |
Re: Problems syncing TP and Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC)
Hi
I had the same problem with my TyTn II and now with my Touch Pro 2, could never get Windows Mobile Device Center to recognize my phones Yesterday i used a powered usb cable, like this one (http://www.westerndigital.com/global...WDCA029RNN.jpg)... it seems that only one USB port wasnt enough to get it connected. With this cable it´s working perfectly... I hope this helps |
