Sprint HTC Touch Pro stuck at boot - bricked?
Hi,
I've been using an unlocked Sprint HTC Touch Pro for several months now. I've always used MightyMike Roms and I'm now using his latest version released 07-18. A couple of hours ago, I soft reset my phone and when the phone restarted, it would not continue after the black screen that says "Touch PRO", I can see the red letters on the bottom of the screen, but nothing else. I have tried hard resetting it and soft resetting several times, connecting it to the charger and to the computer, and pretty much pushing all sorts of buttons when the phone is resetting. There doesnt seem to be anything that I can do to get it pass the first screen. Anybody has any ideas? Worst case scenario, if I need to take it to Sprint... would they be able to tell that it's unlocked by the red letters that do display? Would that void my warranty? Thanks! |

Re: Sprint HTC Touch Pro stuck at boot - bricked?
hold down the power and volume down button and use the stylus to push the reset button on the bottom
keep holding power and reset until it goes into the boot loader it should say serial, then plug in the usb cable and it will change to usb try flashing your rom now to see if this gets your phone back to working order let us know if that doesn't work |
Re: Sprint HTC Touch Pro stuck at boot - bricked?
.... like they said, and NO, you aren't even close to bricked. "Bricked" means you have a brick. Bricks don't light up and try to boot. :D

Moved to Touch Pro Main Forum.
On a side note: Sorry to hear my ROM is giving you trouble. that shouldn't be happening. |

Re: Sprint HTC Touch Pro stuck at boot - bricked?
Well, first of all thank you all for the quick replies. This was way easier than I thought it would be, I've been used to establish an activesync connection before flashing, I didn't even know that I can execute the boot loader with a key combination.
I followed the steps above, reflashed Mighty's ROM and everything looks normal. The PDA ROM Update utility couldn't show my current firmware's version before flashing Mighty's... I thought that was strange. In any event, thank you all again for the help! I've fixed my phone and learned something new! On a side note: Mighty's ROM is awesome, I don't think it was at fault for my phone getting stuck at boot... I blame the texas sun, I think my flash memory got a heatstroke and forgot its contents :-) |
Re: Sprint HTC Touch Pro stuck at boot - bricked?

Re: Sprint HTC Touch Pro stuck at boot - bricked?
Try flashing stock shipped exe. rom with your computer, Take your microSD out because its trying to flash from it expesially if you got a RAPHING file in it.

Re: Sprint HTC Touch Pro stuck at boot - bricked?
I'm having the exact same problem and I've tried a hard rest. Tried a soft reset, and have even tried to flash my phone from the SD card. Phone just stays on "Loading..." after the bootloader screen. Last time I tried it the phone sat there for three hours and did nothing. Any ideas?

Re: Sprint HTC Touch Pro stuck at boot - bricked?
Hello everyone, I really need some help. So if you have a minute I would really appreciate it. I read through a bunch of posts and this one seems like the most similar to my problem.
I had the Juicy 8 Rom on my phone and it started acting up. I soft reset it and it went into this boot loop. It will go to the "Touch Pro" screen, then black screen, then the Touch Pro screen again. Also, my phone acts as if it doesn't have a battery, it only works when it is plugged into a USB or charger. The battery is fine and I have even used a different battery just to check it. I followed the instructions in this thread and was able to get to the boot screen on my phone. I then flashed Mighty Rom and hard reset it but it did the same cycling thing. I then flashed the Pski4 Rom and it is doing the same thing again. If it matters I have a Sprint Touch Pro on Metro PCS. Thank you. |
Re: Sprint HTC Touch Pro stuck at boot - bricked?
I am also having a similar problem, I did a flash dance last night to try the new Sense Rom, all was fine and dandy till I woke up to a frozen phone, I tried to restore the rom image using Power + Vol Down, and it quickly blinks "No Rom Image" before I get the tri color bootloader. So I chaulk it up to a bad flash, I redownload the image and reflash. All is good for about 10 hours then she locks up and cant find the rom image again.....I suspect my flash memory is faulty this makes me un happy. I have a Telus Touch Pro, gonna flash the stock rom and see if that is stable, but to my knowledge the operating software cant affect the flash images...any extra help that can be offered is appreciated.
