Email Locking up?

I'm having some issues with my business email refusing to get new mail. It seems to try to connect to our server (not exchange) but then dose not pull anything down and gets stuck disconnecting. There is probably 100+ emails in there. Any Ideas?

if it's not exchange what is it? pop? imap? is it ssl?

Have you used this account on your TP before or is it a new account you've setup on the TP?
