Chipped Chrome, Wait for TP2?

So today a big piece of chrome chipped off on my Sprint Touch Pro right above the vol up button. Contacted Sprint and they said they'd replace it free if I go to a repair store but I know they don't have any in stock and don't wanna end up with a referb (this is my only tp ever and it was new when I got it in jan 09) and don't wanna wait weeks until I get another phone. What I am thinking if I should just wait until TP2 comes out and try to trade my phone for that? You think it can be done?

I have two cracks in my chrome, one at the bottom of the volume down button and the other on the opposite side. I was thinking the same as you, but odds are that we are not going to get a TP2 as replacement. It will take some time for the TP's to run out. I don't really care to get the TP2, but won't complain if they offered it.

Yeah I wouldn't pay for the TP2. I wonder if they will replace the TP chrome defect forever or only until they stop selling them? That's kinda how I up graded from my mogul to tp. Also my 1 yr warranty isn't up til Jan 2010 so I was thinking maybe there won't be many TP's around by then?

if you don't want a refurb, just put a case on your phone. you'll never see the chrome.

The only thing wrong with mine is the those cracks and I have had this one since January.

Lol I had a black plastic cover for my mogul and the black started coming off and looked like a zebra, man I don't miss that phone.

same thing happened to me...right above the volume rocker.
