Re: Roms and VZ Nav
I do agree you should look into getting a stand alone GPS program...
It's such a rip off having to pay Verizon every month for VZNav... Even GoogleMaps will do navigation for you and it's free! But search around as there are VZNav fixes floating around. If you have a touch Pro (which I assume you do!) try installing the new VZW gps unlocker and that should allow vznav to work. You will probably have to reflash the rom your using after installing it. But any rom should work with it after that. |

Re: Roms and VZ Nav
My guess is VZNav knows it's not a verizon rom somehow...
Where did you get the VZNav installer from? |

I think Asphyx is right, VZ nav is looking for something cause I get the same error. start.vzw.com is usually where you download vz nav but that url shows up different on a stock than it does on something custom. something missing for sure. |

Re: Roms and VZ Nav
I've been using one of the older SSK ROMs with the new Verizon GPS unlock on it. VZNav works, although it can take 10 times trying to get it to search for a link or lock. I also get the certificate error sometimes, but it doesn't seem to have an impact on anything. I just restart the program.
One thing I have noticed lately is that it's not playing audio directions for some reason. I've tried toggling everything I can think of, but no luck. I'm having the same problem over BT with Visual Voice Mail. BTW, I like VZNav more than Google Maps or Windows Live, too. The 2D graphics makes more sense to me than the other programs. |
