Go to you usb to pc connection option in the settings menu. Make sure active sync is checked. Then uncheck or check (depending whether it checked or not) the option for advanced connection directly under the activesync check box. Are you using xp, vista or windows 7 on your pc.

i flashed the spb rom yesterday and things seem ok other than the fact i cant activesync.
any other way to flash another rom not via activesnc??

You can flash directly from the card, but you'll need to be able to put the flash file on the card using your computer, so if you don't have a card reader on your pc/laptop your SOL.

Does that ROM have the popup when you connect via USB that asks you whether you want to activesync, tether or use as disk drive? If so, you might have checked "Don't ask again".

On your phone, go to start->settings->usbtopc and see what is checked there.

If you want to flash to another ROM, forget activesync. Hold down "volume down", "power", and put the stylus in the reset hole until you get the rainbow screen. Plug in the phone into your USB port. You can flash from that screen.
