Help flashing Verizon TP back to STOCK rom for warranty
 

Hi guys,
The keyboard on my Verizon Touch Pro stopped working after I dropped my phone so I wanted to send it to verizon for replacement (I have insurance on the device). However, before doing so, I want to flash my ROM back to the stock version from my SSK one.

The problem is, I am having trouble finding a stock verizon rom to flash back to. The only stock rom I found is the leaked pre-release one at: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...ck+verizon+rom

Is that one OK to use or is there a better stock one out there? Thanks!

well before relocking shouldn't I flash it back to the stock rom? cuz right now i have SSK 1.1 installed

ok so I flashed the phone to the "leaked verizon stock ROM" and then ran the relocker. However, when I press PWR + VOL DOWN and reset the phone to enter the bootloader it still says "security unlocked" so doesn't that mean the phone didn't relock?

No, the stock touch pro (just bought from the store) says security unlocked whether it is unlocked or not

Right the important part is whether it says cmonex after it. If it does its still unlocked. If not you're good to ship it back for repair.

I don't think they even care. A friend at work sent a phone back.. and forgot to include the phone! He was not charged. I bet these things go to a distribution center and get re-furbed. They might check for water damaged or smashed.

Again... this is my guess!
