Sprint TP on Alltel

Well, I got a Sprint touch Pro and got it activated on Alltel. Now the wierd thing is..when I do a speedtest on my data it says my ISP is Sprint...not Alltel. Any ideas?

I am using mightyrom 4.16

Just checked my data usage on Alltel website and it states 6013 KB used. Will check back in a few days to see if it has changed.

Re: Sprint TP on Alltel

Ok class...take notes
1. get the unlock code from sprint, or getspl or some other prog...they are listed in this forum.

2. go into diagnostics on your phone, open qpst on your computer, enter programming mode in qpst, change code to 000000

3. unlock touch pro..as described in this forum.

4. flash with alltel stock rom

5. enter#000000 into your phone.

6. change home sid to 555

7. call *228 option 3
8. if this doesn't work..call alltel support have them add the phone to your account. Most of the techs nevr question it...but if they do...tellthem it says alltel when it boots up.

9. done

Good thing I'm only taking notes, because if this were a test I would have failed. How do you get to "diagnostics on your phone"? Why the Alltel stock rom and not another? Does it magically change your MIP settings (another thing you made no mention of)? Also, the "home SID" depends on your area and while I am not intimately familiar with Alltel's SIDs, I know for a fact that 555 will not "just work" everywhere, and it doesn't need to be changed at all if you load an Alltel PRL (something else you made no mention of) and THEN dial *228. One thing I am not sure of though; can Alltel reps add non-Alltel equipment on the fly? In any event, if you are gonna post "notes", make sure they are more specific/detailed. Otherwise you just invite more questions as people try to determine what you let out.

Edit: I may possibly be wrong about the 555 SID. 555 may be a generic/default SID for Alltel like 2004 (I think) is for VZW. If this is the case, I stand corrected.

If you look through all the threads to program the phone..you will find how to get into diag. As to flashing an alltel rom..this way you are not lieing to the tech when you tell them it says Alltel when it boots up...unless you have no problem telling untruths
