On my Imac it is not even acknowledging anything is connected to it in the hardware usb tree. I really must of jacked up the usb data connection. To all MAC users Never USE INTERNET SHARING!! I guess I have to order a bluetooth dongle for my laptop and just not sync with the mac anymore. yea mac "just works" my headache ![]() |

Re: Stupid Imac fried my ActiveSync pls Help!
I feel your pain. I have a LAN at my house with 5 PC's & one MAC.
I'm a PC guy, but my Wife is a school teacher & has to have MAC stuff for work. They recently gave her a new MAC Powerbook. The older one hooked to my LAN just fine & had RoadRunner access etc. When I hooked up the new LT, I couldn't get an internet connection for some reason. I had done the TCP/IP thing in the control panel (I'm not new to this stuff) & for some reason absolutely NOTHING I did would get the POS to connect. I must have deleted & redid the settings 15 times & nothing. I finally asked her if they still had the old MAC LT at work & if so could she bring it home again?? She brought the old one home, we plugged it in & got an immediate inet connection. At that point, I put both units next to each other & opened the control panel on both & checked all the settings. They where identical on both units. At that point, I was so pissed I was ready to throw the new one out the 2nd story window........Out of total desperation, I redid the TCP/IP settings one more time (& changed absolutely NOTHING) & when I got done the damn thing started working (& has worked fine ever since). |
