Error message 9230- could use some advice

message sent using invalid number of digits.
Please resend using 10 digit number or valid short code. Msg 2114

this is my problem. each time i attempt to send a text via the quick respond im window i get this. if i send a text threw the contacts list(traditional texting window) it works and shows up in the quick window.

i seem to only get this error with several people in my contact list, the rest i can quick respond too all day long and never have a problem.

Specs
Phone: Htc touch pro(sprint)
Provider: sprint
OS: 6.1
Rom: Mightyrom 4.16

ive had these issues even before putting mightyrom on so im fairly sure it has absoluetly nothing to do with it.

i have deleted and readded contacts with no success
the problem occures regardless of the persons carrier im sending too

i thinks thats just about as much info as i can provide, i didnt find any really usefull results in a search so im assuming this isint all to common of a problem.

any help is greately appreciated

Make sure the format for all of the numbers in the contacts are the same: (000) 000-0000 and not some jumble of digits.

I too have the exact same problem. It is very annoying and actually only happens with one contact. I have a palm treo pro with sprint and the contact that gives me a problem is with at&t however I believe I don't have that problem with other contacts who use at&t. I believe I used to have the contact stored as a 7 digit number. However, I tried completely erasing that contact and manually putting in the 10 digit number into a new contact. It still didn't work. I tried contacting Sprint but they don't seem to know much about it. This is pretty annoying if anyone has any ideas I will try them.
Thank you.

I work for sprint and Ive had a customer call in about this and you have to make sure its a 10 digit mobile number (ex. (954) 000-0000) or it wont work or even try doing a hard reset, but back up your info first with active sync or use myphone.Microsoft.com, which is a cool program online cause it backs up everything in your phone including your text messages...but usually a hard reset will either cure this or call sprint and have them make you a trouble ticket...

I have an HTG Evo with Droid ~2.1. My problem was not that I would receive this error message each txt I would send certain individuals, it was replying to their txt. I called Sprint and they had no idea how to fix it and suggested I bring it back as being faulty. Anyway...

I took monkleyz's advise on formatting the phone number and I did not receive the error message. Thanks dude, you saved me a trip to Sprint!
