what do I need to do after installing larger sd card

I really did search forums as well as my owner manual, but couldn't find my answer, so here is my noob question of the day...

I just replaced the stock 1gb micro sd card that comes with the touch HTC Touch Pro, with a 16gb card. Other than physically swapping them out, what else do I need to do, if anything... I don't know if the phone is recognizing it, if I need to format it somehow first, etc...

Thank you in advance

I apologize for whatever it is that I apparently did wrong, but I have read them... considering this is like my 3rd day in the forums, and only my 3rd post, i'm obviously still learning. Possibly if your post was a bit more informative, maybe I'd learn what I did wrong and not repeat it so I can become an expert like you. Whatever I did, I'm sure it won't be my last mistake either.

^^ You posted in the wrong section. Storagecards are plug and play.

Considering you're new, I'm sure the mods will forgive you on this one. They will however move this thread to the main Touch Pro, or General Discussion forum since this doesn't apply to a ROM / Radio update. (Those are the rules they are referring to).

You shouldn't need to do anything with the SD card so long as you can see it with the file explorer utility on your device. They usually come pre-formatted.

BTW, if posting to scold this guy, why not answer his question at the same time?

a very big +1! i would link something for the trolls but it's a kinder, gentler ppcgeeks. op, don't be discouraged by what happened here and if you have anymore questions, feel free to ask. i'll try to help you before the trolls crawl from under their bridges. and to answer your question, just pop it in and go!
