I just replaced the stock 1gb micro sd card that comes with the touch HTC Touch Pro, with a 16gb card. Other than physically swapping them out, what else do I need to do, if anything... I don't know if the phone is recognizing it, if I need to format it somehow first, etc...

Format it as a FAT32 it should be fine I Formatted my 32Gig to FAT32 and my phone sees it just fine.
