MerdinH-Black Ezinput Keyboard Version 1.1


Many of you have been asking me for a cab file of my black keyboard, and since this is a better way to share it with people then responding to PM's all the time, hears is my new cab file of the keyboard with version 1.1, now with fixed phone keyboard.

This should stay in the TouchPro/ Diamond section since this keyboard is only VGA compatible

This cab is also uninstallable so you can remove it whenever you want.

WARNING: Please restart your device before you install this cab file.

Version 1.1 updates:
fixed phone keyboard.
fixed first letter from disappearing after enter first word in messaging.
compressed images for smaller size
compressed cab for smaller size.

i really love the black keyboard. it goes perfect with my setup. all my stuff is black my opera mini skin, my theme ect. so thank you for this its perfect.

its really what ive been looking for to add to my setup to make it almost complete. i just will never be complete in my setup bc i find something new to play with everyday. oh poor me hahaha i love windows mobile haha my gf hates my phone. its like a lil love affair when im on it and she is awake.

problem...

I installed it on my TP, (original ROM)... and after a soft reset the device stopped working. It only showed a blank screen.

im doing a hard reset, ugh! but this sucks.

any suggestions? thanks

This KB works perfectly for me, but the install of ANY KB can cause you to have to hard reset. That happened to me once when I tried to install the TF3D2 KB.

I would NEVER install any new KB without making a system BU right before the install.........

Ive used lots of different keyboards in the past, and this is by far the best. Thanks very much for sharing.

My favorite KB hands down is TouchPal (I love being able to swipe down for symbols etc), but if I didn't have that this is definitely my 2nd choice (I LOVE the compact qwerty).

I have FingerKB installed also as I read how awesome it was, but I think both this setup & TouchPal beat FKB hands down.

For the two that had a restart problem not booting, like jmorton said installing any new keyboard could do this, thats why its good to back up your files before install, and also you should restart your device before you install anything.

I agree 100%, it's the best looking KB ever & the size is perfect.

I wish I could find a skin for TouchPro that looked as cool as that.....

Well I just installed this cab and in bricked my phone, whats the deal with this! Am I going to have to do a hard reset?

If your phone wont boot, then yes you will have to reset it.

Help!!
 

Whenever I install this keyboard (after cab install and soft reset), the default sip is the full qwerty (which works fine) but I cant change it!! I pressed the triangle towards the bottom middle of the screen that changes the keyboard and nothing happens. I even go into Settings/Input and try to change it from there and it still stays on full qwerty. I really want to use the phone keyboard and cant figure out a way to fix this. By the way, the same thing has happened on 4 different roms i have tried (combination of 6.1 and 6.5)

It depends on what keyboard you have on there before you installed mine, if you installed another keyboard before mine, then remove that keyboard, and reinstall mine back on there.

no problems here running stock rom, installed then did a soft reset, works fine, compact keyboard is a little stretched though, but i dont care cause i dont use it.

I LOVE the look of this keyboard but I'm a little hesitant to install it on my phone. I flashed my first rom (mightyrom 4.16) and feel this black KB looks great with the black theme currently on my phone but all this talk of bricking and needing to hard reset concerns me. I did manage to keep a copy of all cabs installed after my flash in a folder on my desktop as my form of back up. I learned that lesson after my first flash LOL!!!!

What i always suggest is just Restart your phone before you install the keyboard, and you should have no problem then.

i think having the text box be black and the letters white would look killer is the a way to make this happen? :scratch:

backup your system with SPB BU or Sprite & hard resets will be no big deal.

I can hard reset my phone & retore a system BU & be right back in business same as before the reset 20 minutes later.......

Got a question, I see the SYM below the 123 button. Now, the crazy question I've had for a while is HOW in the world do i create smileys and things in text messages? On the Mogul this was easy, on this device it seems near impossible.

The way i insert symbol keys is by opening up your hardware keyboard, and on the bottom rom the 5th key from the left is the sym key.

Okay, i see that, however, clicking it on my keyboard never did anything. how exactly am I supposed to get symbols up on my screen after pressing the symbol key?
