Re: !Juicy / Mighty Roms Killed Data Connection!

but how do i get the sprint pri off that the phantom rom put on my tp? I didn't catch this mishap till I over-wrote energy rom with the phantom cus energy killed my net connection but not my mms on a cricket hacked tp. got everything way it should be, but when i make a call, american roaming network takes the call asking to either choose to do a collect call or use a pin from a credit account. searched hofo for the hofo beta v1.0 that was on phone when i bought it, but no luck.

Just grab another phone and do *228, enter your TP's phone number and activate it (make sure your TP is off--pull the battery). You may be forwarded to Customer Support this way so do it via VerizonWireless.com if you have a login. Wait about 5 minutes then activate your TP again using *228 yadda yadda. If you don't have data, do a OTA prograpping (*228 option 1 I think). If this is a Verizon phone, you'll be set to go. If not, you'll have the roaming triangle. There are Verizon PRL's floating around here that alter what tower codes so the phone thinks you're on the correct home network (basically, a Sprint phone has the PRI that points it to Sprint's towers as being home. Even if you flash to Verizon, the PRI hasn't been totally hacked yet so it'll still see Sprint as Home towers and Verizon as roaming. The PRL update here makes the ID's of the towers reverse--the Sprint towers have the code for Verizon (thus become roaming) and the Verizon get the code for Sprin (becoming home). Let me know if it works out for ya...fixed data issues on probably 10 TP's/Diamonds this way over the months.

it's for cricket, not vz. There is no ota with cricket. This is my 4th ppc. Tons of flashing, and never has on any phone thru cricket does *228 work. I need to program phone my self, when done use it. fallowed steps in other roms telling me to download, flash, dial *228. everything worked but dialing *228. all value stings are in radio (pst)

All *228 does is update the info in your EPST. You can do ##778# or ##775# (and enter your MSL) and update the info yourself. For data, try switching between the Active Mobile Profile (by default its on 0, switch to 1, soft reset, switch to 0 and check).

You should stay within your own thread instead of hijacking another users post.

and flashing these roms toasted my tp as well. How cluttered would this site be if instead of posting a reply, everyone started a new thread?

comment like that was as usefull as me searching and searching, and googling, and waiting for days looking for an answer til i get nowhere and have to actually ask, then some joker replying SEARCH.

yeah sometimes custom roms go bad. my phone was fine, and the next morning wouldnt connect to the web, when its all said and done, i had to re-lock and reflash a sprint rom, and then thru a couple hours of troubleshooting and testing, somehow the phone forgot its own MSL(NO MSL worked, not the device one, temporary one, even a ##786# wouldnt work), and I had to get a replacement. SO yes, sometimes custom roms can hose your baby

Your unlock code should be 00000 (six zeroes). If it's not, you're lying to us

BTW... you were right on the password. I read your emial like this;

"Your unlock code should be 00000 (blah blah) ...."

So I used 5 zeros, I'm a turrible nucklehead...just turrible.

Thanks for the help

yeah, I'll try to summarize for the next guy....

1. Flashing to stock rom and ##786# had no effect.
2. Activating on a different phone (HTC Touch Diamond) then reprogramming on htc tp had no effect.
3. Tried several roms / hard resets.
4. Tried using no user / password & xxxxxxxxxx@vzw3g.com / vzw. Nope.
5. Believe it or not Verizon fixed this one...I tried to get the ts to explain what he did...you can imagine how that converstation went. Apparently he was able to rebuild my data connection on his end, it was corrupted. After a hard reset all was good.

I'm not going to test it but I think Mutiny32 might be on to something. I'm pretty sure I ran ppst.exe while connected to my pc through active sync. When connected to activesync I never had any problems because my phone was using the wireless connection on the laptop. As soon as I unpluged usb...bad user / password.

Like I said I'm not interested in testing...but I'M GOOD NOW!!!! TP is waaaay better to use then the Diamond, even with the trouble, I'm glad I switched.

Thanks to everyone....i tried hit the thanks button for each individual, sorry if I missed anyone.

YOU GUYS ROCK!!!
