Black market sprint touch pros?

I noticed that there are a lot of almost new or new sprint touch pros on the market and very few Verizon branded. I also noticed that the sprint models sell for almost half of the Verizon version. Seems pretty strange that the superior model would be selling cheaper.

I recently bought a sprint "almost new" phone off of craislist and I went to register it with HTC and they won't accept the S/N. Sprint did confirm it was a clean ESN.

Anybody else find this strange?
