Stop Activesync From Always Running
I have been searching the forums on how to stop activesync from always running. I have found several posts about disabling the time syncronization but these posts were back in 2007 and I tride it and it does not work. So basically, I have an HTC Touch Pro and Activesync is always running. I kill the process and it comes back a few minutes later. It is draining my battery and I want to be able to stop it. I still need it of course because I do sync with my pc but I want to manually start it. Can someone help me with a real solution to this? thanks.

Re: Stop Activesync From Always Running
i installed it but activesync still runs when I connect my phone to my pc for internet access. I would really like to stop the thing entirely unless I manually start it from programs.

Re: Stop Activesync From Always Running
Why don't you just disable the connection on your pc? Then when you want it enable the connection.

Re: Stop Activesync From Always Running
I monitored active sync couple times with data monitor, that joint used bout 140kb all day, so I stopped tripping bout it, ...very minimal

Re: Stop Activesync From Always Running
i tried async killer and it does not seem to be working... unless.. active sync is required when my phone connects to check for new email. Is activesync required for this?

Re: Stop Activesync From Always Running
I guess this must be fixed in mighty reborn. I had the same issue on the stock rom, but with reborn, activesync doesnt run unless i plug the phone in to my laptop, at which point a screen pops up with 3 options, "activesync" "disk drive" "modem". I know changing roms for such a small problem is not a great solution, but, its a solution nonetheless.

Re: Stop Activesync From Always Running
Open Active Sync then go to menu and go to schedule here you are going to select manually so when you go to your e-mails simply press send and receive and that is the only time active sync will work. Also be sure to check the box where it says "Send/receive when I click send".
I hope this helps. |
