ahh... so activesync IS used when sending and receiving email? I have my phone set to automatically send and receive ever 2 hours. If this is the case then there is nothing I can do. I will just have to deal with the battery drain.

activesync runs without stop even with *all* (yes i use multiple accts even on my phone) email accounts set to manual on my HTC TP... I hate that it eats the ram more than the battery drain. right after reboot, it takes it down to 35%!
