Messages cannot be downloaded

Hello TP users.
I am hoping one of you might be able to help me.
I did finally work up the courage to install my first ROM Silence 9.
Great ROM very fast!
But thats not why I am asking for help.

Since I did install this new ROM I have had issues with my POP3 email.
Gmail and Hotmail work with no issues but my POP3 keeps proving me with errors:

Messages cannot be downloaded to your mobile device. make sure you are connected and that your e-mail account settings are correct. Then, try to download messages again.

Now I did talk with my email provider and and got all of the right details such as mail server user name email password etc. Still get the same above error. So I called my service provider (Bell Mobility). They did provide me with a new outgoing mail and still will not connect. Could this be a issue with the new ROM?

Thanks for the suggestion Blazinaze.
My issue is not with gmail, in fact my gmail and hotmail work fine.
Its my POP3 email for my site.
I have Bell looking into this as it seems they where able to recreate the issue on there demo phone.
