Well I though since Alltel is now VZW things would be different. Do you have data working/paying for data??

to get the data working the easist way is if u have another smartphone copy the 10key and put it on ur tp!! thats what i did used the 10key from my 6800 and it worked fine!!

i dont think u need one if they tell u u do need one tell them u want a data plan u get charged by the kb/mb and u just erase or dont move over ur 10key and ur phone will not data authicate !

But don't they require data plans on all newer smartphones, and pay as you use KB or what ever its called is not an option any more, if it was I'd get a TP2 with the current plan I have, but I been told that plan is donezo. I use my i760 for everything but going on the net, and usually either have my laptop with me or in wifi range of I need the net.

I just want to make sure before I make sure before I try to find a Alltel TP on ebay. If I have the pay as use data plan as a long time VZW customer, do I need one of those newer data plans(required on VZW TP) to get the Alltel TP activated or will my current plan work still work with it? Thank you all.

im not sure about ur situation but i know i have two lines on my account my tp(tp2 will be here tommorrow) and a 6900 sprint branded touch and my tp was a unlimited data plan but my 6900 dont have a data plan at all!!!

If that true I may have go after the Alltel TP. I take it sprint and other cmda brands(not Alltel) would not work on VZW anymore based on what I read. Thank you.

idont see how thats true!! Based on the fact that when u activate a phone other companies dont know about it!! so i dont know how they could tell if it was activated at anything on another carrier!! as long as u changed the correct settings in the espt i dont see why u couldnt have a verizon branded device then activate it on sprint then turn around and activate it on verizon once agian!!!

Dunno. But, I think the esn has to be in their system.
