Re: GPS Accuracy?
In my experience, it's almost always accurate within 1-2 yards. The average accurate range is 1-5 yards with good/strong locks.

Re: GPS Accuracy?
Yea, as long as you're not moving........
I have three TP's & they all show a noticeable lag when moving in Google Maps, GarminXt etc etc etc ~John |

Re: GPS Accuracy?
Lord knows why they didn't have it function exactly like it did in the titan and why repairing it isn't worth their time.

Re: GPS Accuracy?
I have hardly any lag using TeleNav 5.16 (upgraded the stock Sprint Nav on the phone, still a free app if included in your plan) and a moderate lag on Garmin...but with turn preview activated, I never miss turns anyway...it's probably a second lag but at 60mph I can see why some people complain about it...in any case, I'm not that anal, use GPS regularly, and am happy with TeleNav and Garmin on the Touch Pro...but there is a known lag problem...there are some fixes on the XDA forums but they can get complicated so I've just stuck with the stock GPS setups...

Re: GPS Accuracy?
The lag is certainly not a big deal & I have never come close to missing a turn because of it, but it is just annoying on GP when the Tiitan GPS was dead nuts accurate & no TP ever is at highway speed......

Re: GPS Accuracy?
Using Telenav 5.16 really decreased my lag. It is about 2-3 seconds driving at 45mph using google maps or other gps software. But with the latest Telenav it is almost spot on -maybe a .5 - 1 second lag. However, the voice directions are always given on time.

Re: GPS Accuracy?
It depends on a number of factors.
How many satellites do you have? Are you moving or stationary? Are you near tall buildings? Is it late in the evening or early? Essentially...the GPS on the Touch Pro is as accurate as any other GPS. There might be a lag(but I don't know that I would consider that an accuracy issue, it is just a delay). Any article on GPS or GPS accuracy will be far more informative than this thread as far as GPS accuracy. |
