Talking Notifications

I've noticed several ROMs now how Talking Notifications, but I haven't seen a tutorial on cooking them into a ROM, or including them on your phone after-the-fact. Did I miss it somewhere?

Where do people get such notifications?
What resources are out there?

you can go to this site

http://www.research.att.com/~ttsweb/tts/demo.php

and choose which voice you want, type in the text you would like to hear, then save it to your phone and assign it just as you would any other notification.

The notifications are nothing more than sounds, mp3 format. There are also some brought by voice command which will read your text and email under certain conditions. I paid alot for my phones, I want them to talk to me. :)

Here is a tutorial that is available in my sig on the sounds which include these sounds you all are talking about. I've been using the same sounds for about a year now...
