I did have to do setup with mine. It appears at least for me and several others, Alltel and Verizon changed the settings on their Touch Pros. Alltel to encourage use of their GPS app, which simply changes the settings to what they should be (GPS com port is set to 4 instead of none). And Verizon which as many know actually has a lockout due to them wanting you to purchase their monthly subscription. However I believe all GPS's on all of Verizon's phones will be unlocked around June. Though I believe there are hacks to get around it now.

Yeah same thing for me on my alltel version, but I have 2 friends who are on Alltel and did not have to change any settings to find the GPS sats.

didnt have to do this either installed it and no problems can even zoom into my house and see exactly what room i am in spooky

mines aint working either an theres no solution besides bring it back to the sprint store....i have a diamond also an the the gps works perfectly...not for nothing i took off the black tape off the back of my touch pro where the 2 internal antennas are an after that thats when i noticed the gps wasnt working....could dis be the reason why the gps isnt working did any body else do the same thing an have the same problem or yall gps just dont work????????????????????????????????](*,)](*,)](*,)](*,)](*,)](*,)](*,)](*,)

1.. install google maps 2. open google maps 3. bottom right click options 4. click use gps 5. click satillite view 6. wait a few seconds 7. enjoy to exit i always go to options then exit because you can leave your lattitude on for your friends to see u

You must have the location set to on within the phone settings... I'm a tard. Start>Settings>Phone>Services highlight "Location Setting" then click "Get Settings" and then click "on"

Mine now works perfectly and fast

Looks like all TPs are not the same. Just like on my Moguls, I have found COM4/4800 works fine. As does automatic.

I had to use these settings to get mine to find a satellite. Is there some way to get googlemaps to use the data that is downloaded by quickgps?
