cpl of noob questions
 

1.) what is "Beam" I've tried searching but cant really get any info on what it actually is and what it does.
2.) On Juicy5 my data connection ALWAY stayed on and I would receive emails to my phone..Now on Mighty's rom and it seems my data connection turns off on its on if not in use and comes back on if say I log the net or go to settings and turn it on, but now I don't recive my emails to my phone I have to actually active sync to my comp to get the emails on my phone..which is pointless concidering if I'm on my comp the emails don't really need to be on the phone any more lol

Thanks for the help and suggestions and as we all know..THIS SIGHT OWNS THE UNIVERSE.

Use Diamond Config to turn EVDO back to Disabled for EVDO Timeout.

beam is an ability to xfer data between a phone and a 'puter(similar to Blueteeth...lol)

I dont understand what this means or will do lol.. I'm on metro pcs's network and have no evdo.. Im using a nonevdo prl
and thanks skeeg :-) I've been wondering what it is lol..so its best to leave turned on I assume.. when I had juicy rom I left it turned off and would still get my emails.. I figured away to get them now with mighty I have to go into my email account and hit send/receive and then i'll get them they dont come auto like they did on other rom.

"Beaming" on a PocketPC refers to file transfer, whether to computer or any other device. It can refer to IR or Bluetooth, but as your Touch Pro doesn't have IR, it is only referring to BT in this case. Under Beam settings, "Receive all incoming beams" just refers to the phone's ability to receive files through BT, unchecking the box will effectively block incoming file transfers, but will still allow outgoing transmissions.

Also, to clarify what RonDutt said, the DiamondConfig program has an option to disable EVDO timeout, which really only refers to the data session timeout, they just use the term EVDO because most people have it. Disabling the timeout should also work for your 1xRTT data connection.
