New Arcsoft for TouchPro

This is a tweaked version of JaminMs's release of Arcsoft 5.0.82.79 ported from the Treo. I have modified it so that it is specific to the Touch Pro, no longer looks to My Documents for media files and instead uses the storage card DCIM folder fo all multimedia files and for recording. The old version gave the camera a headache when recording video, audio or taking pictures because if the camera was set to the storage card for media it got "a little hung." This one is snappier and puts all your multimedia files in one place. If you like it hit the thanks button! Credit and respect to JaminMc for the original cab! :headbang:

What if we already have the previous cab of this same revision installed? Any special procedure to "upgrade"?

man thats always been one of my little peeves about arcsoft, can anyone give me some info on how to convert it to work with verizon

Yes, this works on the Verizon Touch Pro. I just installed this one over a previous Arcsoft install


The VZW server profile is

Server Name
Verizon Wireless
GateWay:
<blank>
Server Address:
http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms

could you pm the reg entries you changed to get this working...i tinkered around with it a bit but couldnt get it working right and then i reflashed to juicy7

Actually All I did was install the CAB from this thread, and then re-apply the Verizon/MMS settings cab from DCD.

It just adds the proper Verizon Wireless profile in ArcSoft and sets it as a default.

Yes the cab is from the Titan days but it works fine so far...

Yes you can do this but why would you want to use the older slower ap not intended for your higher resolutioon screen.

That CAB is just the Registry settings for Verizon MMS profile , not the Actual program itself.

No the cab I posted is the full installer for Sprint, for Verizon you will have to change your server settings, search a bit and you will find those posted somewhere in the forums.

i will have to give this a go the next time i flash. does this version still have the issue when the phone turns on it says messaging at the top instead of start?

The Verizon info is on post #11 of this thread... I suggest adding it to the first post so it's easy access for whoever dl's the cab.

Yes for a second or 2 then it goes to Start.

i guess i'll post this here and see if i get any help: I haven't had any complete sucess using any version of Arcsoft. My first problem is that i've tried to send pictures to 3 different people. 2 of them have a G1, and the other person has a sprint phone. No one received the pictures. They are uploading to the sprint picture sit just fine, and it shows on the website that the picture was sent. But no one is receiving the pictures. I can receive pictures just fine, and if i send myself a picture, it comes through just fine in about 2 minutes. Second problem is that sometimes the messaging app will crash and it won't let me open sms, mms, or email. And then i have to soft reset. Any solutions?

i want to add that it only crashes after i send a picture. Not always, but most of the time. Sorry for the double post, but opera mini won't let me edit.

good i will have to give this a try then b/c the old one stays on messaging until you touch it. which is not a big deal, but i don't see why it needs to say messaging at all.

can the other people send pics to each other? are you sending 3 megapixel pics? maybe they are too big for their phones?

yes the others can send pictures to each other. and all the pictures i've tried to send are under the 512kb limit. And the G1 should be able to receive 3MP pictures because it can take 3MP pics.

There are some problems sending mms between carriers, I'm on Sprint and can send to Verizon, Sprint but not AT&T Blackbery but other MMS capable AT&T phones get the message, YMMV!

what's with the screenshots? the OP said it is the EXACT SAME app except the settings are tailored to the TP. no screenshots needed as it is the same. like i said above, its all in the first post.

As I said in the OP it is essentially the same ap just twaked to run faster and co-exist with the TP native settings for MM file storage, what purpose would a screen shot serve?
