NO.

The op wants a keyboard he can attach to his phone, not to use his phone as a USB keyboard.

yeah, the only thing i can think of to help you out would be if you have a bluetooth keyboard, i've paired a few different kinds of bluetooth keyboards with my ppc6700 and ppc6800, haven't tried the keyboards with the touch pro, but i dont see why it wouldn't work, i've hooked a bluetooth mouse up to the touch pro but haven't tried the keyboard. (there was no functionality for the mouse because i had no driver or virtual mouse program installed, it was just paired) but the keyboards worked for me. you could try this, other than bluetooth, i haven't seen any keyboards that hook up through mini-usb or micro-usb, or that do so and support winmo phones, the only keyboard i have ever seen use a mini-usb would be the clip on for the ps3 controller, maybe that would work though?

Re: External usb keyboard ?

The only issue with attatching keyboards to phones is that the USB controller in the handset can not be a host. On USB architechture there are hosts and slaves. The host is typically the USB port on your computer you attatch things to, or a USB hub. The slave is the attatched device, be it a mouse, keyboard, or external hard drive. The issue is that a slave does not supply power, only consumes it. Also, the controllers are hard coded to be either one. Some new controllers are supposedly being designed that can flip roles, but for now, USB still defines devices as either host or slave. By attatching a keyboard to your handset, you'd be attatching a slave device to a slave device. Neither one would be able to communicate with the other. Hope this helps!

Actually, The phone Can act as a Host Device :) You can even attach
a usb thumbdrive to the phone for storage. But the only problem
is that you need to supply extra power to the keyboard because the
phone does not supply power through the port to another device.

Really? I'd love to see an example of that. If it does act as a host, that could mean a BUNCH of cool stuff. Any examples?

actually according to WMExperts.com the Treo 800W can act as a host, and you can connect many things like an external USB Harddrive or a thumbdrive

Well ****! Thats cool! Wonder if the Pro supports that. I know it has to be built into the driver and controller to be able to flip modes like that. Anyone have a clue whether this will work with the 6850/Fuze?
