Re: External usb keyboard ?
Thanks for all you info.
I just did a small research on frogpad and looks like it should work with Win 5 & 6, so hopefully I would be able to pick something up from local Amazon (yes, I drive by their main building and warehouse at least 3-5 times a month) or Frog themselves in near future and try this out, unless someone would be first. Thanks again Paul |

Re: External usb keyboard ?
My Freedom Scientific PACMate BX420 http://freedomscientific.com has USB on the the go capability and I frequently connect external card readers and hard drives/flash drives. The caveat is that they must be formatted as either FAT or FAT32, NTFS is a no go. My PACMate runs WM 6.1 Classic. Hopefully, more manufacturers will adopt the USB on the go capability in the future.

Re: External usb keyboard ?
There's a thread on XDA developers titled "USB Host". Apparently, the Touch Pro service manual claims the possibility of using a Touch Pro as a USB host - and one software company is selling drivers. However, there have been MANY failures - including people who added powered cables. Only one person claimed that their touch pro was able to connect a hard drive - but then disappeared when asked for proof.
I suspect we'll be forever disappointed on this topic. Until other manufacturers provide this at least. |
Re: External usb keyboard ?
Back to the original question - no USB - but I use a Think Outside BT keyboard. I can type nearly as fast on it as I can on a laptop keyboard. Works perfectly (including opening programs, etc.) with the Touch Pro. - sheureka
