that should do it, let us know if it works.
this was the first thing i tried, and it says to check the username and password. i'm guessing that my email address isn't a login?

Re: gmail university email setup?

i know for a fact that you have to log-in to your university email page in order to creat a password for gmail to be able to recognize...i can't remember how i did it exactly, but when i loogged into my email thru my university's account it gave me the option to upgrade to gmail since they are changing it over....then I had to make a new password and was then able to log on gmail that way....let me look and see if i can find out how i did it exactly and i'll get back to you

Re: gmail university email setup?

any help would be appreciated.. i've been trying for the past week and i see that a lot of universities help you with this, but my school seems to be reluctant to help in any way, or the it department just doesn't know/care. it would just be really helpful because i'm never really on my computer so checking my email on my phone is probably the only way i'll ever actually check it.

Re: gmail university email setup?

ok, does or did the university just migrate accounts to gmail? is there an option to create a password for your gmail account when you log onto your school email? i am not certain that this may be your problem, but i can't seem to find any info on your schools email so i can see for myself....but i had the exact same issue until i made the full migration and created a password for the umail.gmail.com account....i'll keep digging and see if i can find something

Re: gmail university email setup?

http://mymailg.nyit.edu/

this is all that i see, and when i login, it goes straight to a gmail inbox with nyit's logo at the left hand side. i enabled imap and pop, but that didn't seem to help anything. i can access my personal gmail account just fine, but i think i have to log into an nyit server first, which isn't mymail.nyit.edu, nor imap.nyit.edu.
